Movie Review of "Good Will Hunting"

I would like to introduce Good Will Hunting. Good Will Hunting is an American movie released in 1997. This movie is a human drama depicting the interaction between a gifted young man with a genius who cannot escape the trauma he received in his childhood and a psychologist who cannot heal his grief after losing his beloved wife. The main character is Will Hunting played by Matt Demon and Dr. Sean Maguire played by Robin Williams. The script was written by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Matt Damon started writing the script for the movie while at Harvard University as an assignment for a screen writing class and finished it with Ben Affleck who played the role of Chuckie. This movie grossed over 260 million at the box office, It was nominated for nine awards at the 70nd Academy Awards and won in two categories.

One day Professor Rambo gave his students a difficult math problem.
But no one can solve it. While everyone was worried, there was a person who solved it easily. It was Will, a part-time janitor, not a Massachusetts Institute of Technology student. Professor Rambo looked for Will. However, Will was in custody at the time for punching a person. He's a math genius, but he distrusts humans because of his childhood abuse. Professor Rambo wants to rehabilitate him so that his math talents can flourish, but he hasn't opened up his heart. Therefore, Professor Rambo goes to his friend Sean, who teaches psychology at the university, and asks him to rehabilitate Will.

Good Will Hunting is a touching story. After watching the movie, I thought Will was really lucky to have met Sean, because it changed Will's lonely life. Sean doesn't do anything special. He listened to Will, laughed with him, sometimes got angry, and talked about himself. That’s all. I thought that it was not money or fame that moved people's hearts, but rather empathy. It's a wonderful movie that makes you feel the warmth of people, so please take a look.

Movie Review of "Kramer vs. Kramer"

I would like to introduce Kramer vs. Kramer. Kramer vs. Kramer is an American movie released in 1979. Kramer vs. Kramer means Husband Kramer vs. Wife Kramer. This is, the story of a custody battle. The movie was directed by Robert Benton. and the main characters are husband Ted Kramer played by Dustin Hoffman, wife Joanna Kramer played by Meryl Streep and son of Billy Kramer played by Justin Henry. This movie grossed over $173 million at the box office, It was nominated for the top nine categories at the 52nd Academy Awards and won in five categories.

The story is set in 1970s New York. Ted was a hardworking husband, but he left all the housework and childcare to Joanna. Joanna got fed up with this life and left home alone. Ted and Billy were at a loss. Things didn't work out at first, but as Ted started to get along with Billy's feelings, they gradually created a good parent-child relationship. One day, over a year later, Joanna asked for custody of Billy. However, Ted wouldn't give up parental rights to her. And Ted and Joanna filed a custody case. This custody contention has a surprise ending.

In the 1960s and 1970s, when this movie was released, the United States had a women's liberation movement called Women's Liberation. This is a movement to seek equal rights with men and eliminate discrimination and inequality against women. Divorce or not marrying may be a symbol of an independent woman who has achieved social advancement. Joanna feels the same. She lived in a middle-class family without feeling any inconvenience, but she wasn't happy. She chose to live freely without being tied down by her husband and left home alone.

This movie is a very thought-provoking story. Divorce and child custody trials may be commonplace today, However, it was a social problem at the time. But I think the victims are always children. Children often don't want a divorce. In the movie Billy said, Are you going away” “That’s why Mommy left, isn’t it? Because I was bad?” You can see that he is hurt from the heartbreaking scene where Billy asks his father Ted. In marriage, I think it is important to share housework and childcare, help each other, and respect each other. The movie does have a custody battle scene, but it's not scary. The content is also very easy to understand. Above all, mischievous Billy is very cute. It is a very good work, so please take a look.

Movie Review of "The Founder"

I would like to introduce The Founder. The Founder is an American movie released in 2016. The story is set in 1954 America and is based on a true story. This is the story of a hamburger shop in San Bernardino County, California that became a franchise and spread all over the world. The main character is Ray Kroc played by Michael Keaton and elder brother Mac McDonald is played by John Carroll Lynch, and the younger brother Dick McDonald is played by Nick Offerman. And the director is John Lee Hancock.

After the 1940s, when automobiles became commonplace, restaurants in the United States became popular, where young women called Carhops put on roller skates and brought meals to customers' cars. However, the waiting time was long and the orders were often wrong. At that time, there were few fast food restaurants and many people didn't know about it. In 1954, Ray Kroc was a milkshake mixers salesman. But the mixers didn't sell at all. One day, the McDonald brothers, who run a hamburger shop, ordered eight milkshake mixers from Ray. When Ray went to McDonald's, it was a hamburger shop with a rational system that he had never seen before. Ray was fascinated by McDonald's  and signed a franchise agreement with them on the condition that all changes must be approved by the McDonald brothers. However, this encounter with Ray becomes a nightmare for the McDonald brothers.

This movie tells the story of McDonald's from it’s beginnings to becoming the McDonald's of the world. Actually, the name McDonald's is different from the founder's name. Why didn't the founder name the hamburger shop after himself? Why did he choose the name McDonald's? This is the highlight. This movie isn't a scary story, but you will feel fear of human obsession. If you want your business to succeed and expand, talent alone may not be enough, Patience and action may be more important. Is the McDonald's founder a hero or a monster? Please watch the movie.

Movie Review of "Big"

I would like to introduce about Big. Big is an American movie released in 1988. The  main character is Josh played by Tom Hanks. In this movie, Tom Hanks does a great job playing Josh, who looks like an adult, but is a child on the inside. The movie was directed by Penny Marshall and written by Anne Spielberg. Anne is the younger sister of Steven Spielberg. Big received Academy Award nominations for Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay. It was a huge commercial success as well, grossing $151 million worldwide.

One day, 13-years-old Josh made a wish to an antique fortune-teller machine called Zolter saying, "I want to be big." The next morning, Josh suddenly changes from child to adult. Josh panics, but it’s too late. Reluctantly, he starts working at a toy store. At first, Josh wants to be a child again and go home but as the days go by, his feelings change little by little.

Big is a fantasy-comedy-drama movie. It is fun and the time flows by quickly
I especially like the scene where Josh, who works at a toy store, surprises and impresses the president and employees with his bright and flexible ideas. What's more the toys Josh conceived of are actually made. Also, one of the highlights is the scene in the middle of the movie where the president and Josh play the walking piano. After this, Josh's destiny changes. As for this piano songs, one song is Heart and Soul, and the other is the same as the song of the popular idol group NiziU, so I think everyone knows it. Please listen to it. Big isn't just funny, it's a heartwarming tale of friendship, love and growth. You can enjoy it regardless of generation. Please take a look.

Movie Review of "Green Book"

I would like to introduce about Green Book. Green Book is an American movie released in 2018. The story is set in 1962 America and is based on a true story. It tells the story of African-American genius pianist Don Shirley and Italian-American Shirley's driver Tony Lip as they concert  tour the American South. The movie was directed by Peter Farrelly. The main characters are Don Shirley played by Mahershala Ali and Tony Lip played by Viggo Mortensen. Green Book won the People's Choice Award at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival. It also won Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor at the 91st Academy awards.

In the title, Green Book refers to "The Negro Motorist Green-Book". At that time, Jim Crow laws were enacted in the American South, segregating whites and people of color in everything from hotels and restaurants to movie theaters. This book lists hotels and restaurants where African-Americans can stay comfortably without being discriminated against. Shirley and Tony take the Green Book with them on a concert tour of the American South. Shirley is African-American but wealthy and well-educated and Tony is an illiterate, poor Italian-American, They often clash at first because of their different backgrounds, but gradually they come to understand each other.

There are racist scenes in this movie, but nothing violent or scary. The content is not difficult and there is comedy, so it is a movie that anyone can enjoy. Shirley is a genius pianist and can give many concerts in the American North without having to play in the American South. Also, he is rich enough to live in Carnegie Hall. Why does he want to play to audiences in the American South? This is the main point of this movie. After seeing this movie, I learned the importance of empathizing with other people's feelings and recognizing diversity. It's a very good movie, so please take a look.

This is my favorite last scene.
